I grew up surfing in Southern California. I spent every second I could surfing, skating, snowboarding, mountain biking – anything for a thrill.
But when it came to trading, all I heard was:
- Protect your capital
- Don’t take risks
But what about the buys who got really big in the market? Guys like Dan Zanger, Jesse Livermore, Nicolas Darvas. How did they trade the market?
Well, I found out, and I started to change my style of trading to match theirs.
Now all I do is hunt low priced, high flying stocks, because that’s the segment of the market that I have identified to have the most opportunity of growing a small account the fastest.
But it’s not easy!
That’s where study, hard work, insight, statistics and repetition come in.
It took me years to learn how to surf well. It took me years (and a lot of bruises) to learn how to skateboard well. It took me years to learn how to snowboard well (and I’m still not there).
Why does anyone imagine that trading (where you lose money and not just ego points) would be any different?
So if you like trading low priced, high flying stocks and you’re okay with taking big risks to go after big rewards, stick around, because we’re about to get extreme!
